Halstead Part time Nanny/Carer TC448

Wonderful, welcoming family well known to the agency near Bures on the Suffolk border near Halstead, are looking for a maternity cover nanny/carer for their Girl Boy twins 6 years and girl aged 9. The little boy has cerebral palsey and needs assistance as he is unable to walk unaided and is a sunny and very happy little chap. This position is for maternity cover for their long standing nanny who will be on leave from July for about six months.
The family are looking for a nanny who has loads of common sense and can think their feet. A practical application to your work and the ability to work alongside Mum so you need to be cheerful, willing with a good sense of humour and very reliable. A childcare qualification would be good, but the quality of the candidate is more important to the family as is previous experience with a special needs child as training will be given. You will have a current DBS and paediatric first aid, together with a clean driving licence (on duty car available) It is important that you are a good listener and can follow instructions well.
Duties include help with daily personal care for the little boy washing, dressing etc. Help with implementation of therapy programmes (speech, physio and occupational therapy) Full training will be given and you will work alongside Mum initially. Taking the child to therapy appointments, play dates etc. Accompanying the family on holiday to provide ongoing support. The other children will need supervision with homework and play activities. Ensuring that they all receive a nutritious tea when home from school, and during the day in the holidays, keeping bedrooms and playroom tidy, laundry of clothes and bedding for the children. School runs as and when necessary (mum will often do this)
Hours are Monday- Friday 14.00 – 19.00
Salary is £18,000 gross per annum. (pro rata)
July start.
